I was reading in the paper this evening that the event that took place a week or so ago, where the K9 officers dog, bit the officers 4 year old son and who eventually had his foot amputated has turned out as well as can be expected for all involved.
Article said that the boy is recovering nicely and is in good spirits.
The officer has not been charged with any offense or disciplined in any way, but will be investigated, but that investigation hasn't taken place yet. But I don't think anyone really thinks it was anything other than a tragic accident.
The dog is being retired from the force, and will be returned to the training facility that originally sold him to the department to be taken care of and live out the rest of his life.
