I was reading where someone bought a Lee Classic Turret press and said it was rough. Just got me in mind it had been a while since I had done any maintenance on mine and remembered feeling one die sort of "catching' near the top.
I took the turrets with dies I have loaded for different rounds and sprayed them all out with ballistol. Then I sprayed each hinge on the press lever, removed and sprayed the primer feed arm and where it attaches then tightened down the bolts that hold it to the desk. I could think of nothing else to 'fix' and felt good about it.
The press was running well enough before but boy is it buttery smooth now and feels like a much more expensive piece of equipment- just like anything thirsty for TLC and lube.
Just a reminder- but thought I would share. Still dig this press after all these years.

Presses accumulate a lot grit from depriming, an occasional cleaning and lube does wonders. I use Ponsness Warren's STOS lube on mine, it works great and a small jar lasts a long time. I am still using some from the two jars I got at PW's booth at the 1980 Grand American trap shoot.

Thanks for the reminder......I need to do the same.

Haha. I was resizing some cases the other day on my Rockchucker Supreme and they seemed really stiff. A couple of shots of lube on the ram and toggle pins and it got a lot easier!

Why do I feel there is a euphemism in there somewhere?

Probably a lot of guys here that prefer their ram to be well lubed.

Well I was told on my other post that Break Free has ruined a bunch of guns so... I bought some Hoppes grease thinking it was ...you know....grease...like for lubing stuff but it ain't. Might work here though. Have to find SOME use for it as there is only so much you can put on a choke tube! I would occasionally spritz some One-Shot into the dies but the Ballistol cleaned it out really well and has the joints in the press arm silky smooth. Wd 40 is so.....Prius. (ha ha ) I am sure both are fine and work great and never let you down....but if that is the only reason you use stuff you got no business here. lol I have serious Campfire brain. I have a tub of plain white lithium grease and used it on pistols with fine results. Recommended it to many. It is just so cheap. Gun butter is way more expensive- so I am happier using it.

Where do you get these stuff to lube the press? The first three posters mention some stuff and I am not familiar with them nor where to get them. Let me know when you can.
