Yup, wound us up. My buddy hunted hard yesterday and saw ZERO. Heck, yard squirrels ain't showing up. Tomorrow starts diller season, those bastards are tearing up the geenstrips. Got a Martini .222Mag that will blow the hull off them.
Did some work on turkey gun today, trying some new ammo. Come on Turkey season..

Yep, last day of Alabama season, now we wait until October. It was a crappy day here, wind blasting, everything moving, impossible to see a squirrel if there was one present.

That’s a wrap for us too.

I added one more on 1-6 shooting and missed his head. Weather was alright, but they were zipping around at warp speed.

Gotto get tonight’s squirrel nachos started.

Well boys, to wile away the time before next season, and the fact that I'm bored outta my mind, I went and made a purchase, last week. Been wanting another .22 handgun to carry squirrel hunting and pond fishing. The Ruger single sixes were just too expensive for a knock around gun, so I decided to try a Heritage Rough Rider. Don't know how it's gonna shoot, but i couldn't turn down the new-in-box price of $139! grin

Gonna get a cheap holster for it, and put some laquer bright orange paint on the fixed sights, so I can see em[no wise cracks ingwe] whistle

Come on Spring!!! grin

I love that warthog pic I saw of yours.

Squirrel nachos turned out tasty.

We didn’t quite finish the 2nd one:

My buddy is into Argentinian cooking. This is his “pickled squirrel.” It’ll sit in the fridge for a week and then get sampled.

Update on that one forthcoming.

I'm curious how that Heritage shoots and holds up.

Don't own one but several people I know do and they shoot way out of their league. One of my former students brought one over and it was gumball accurate. Would bust a skwills head no problem.

I just made teriyaki chicken wings last night and figured Id put a layer of squirrel under them, so the chicken fat would keep it from drying out. It worked.Mighty tasty, I must say!

That I'd like to sink my teeth into. smile I love some pecan pie.

I'm thinking two pie courses for a squirrel banquet...cept I can't bake a pie worth a hoot and hate to think of the work a hickory specimen would involve. Wonder if there's someone around here I could recruit.
