I have a Sig P226 in a .40 cal. Does anyone know if I can just get a .357 Sig barrel, and drop it in my P226? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Read all the reviews, looks like a great option. One question, will it also shoot 38's ?

America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

Most 357 can also shoot 38's. My question is will 38's be enough to cycle the action on a 40 S&W ? Just a simple question, didn't mean it to cause concern.

Completely different ".357".
You're talking about .38 Specials being fired in a .357 Magnum cylinder. That works in a revolver with those cartridges because they are 1) rimmed, and 2) the .357 Magnum is simply an elongated .38 Special case.
The .357 Sig is a rimless, bottle-neck cartridge made by necking down the .40S&W. The only things it has in common with the .357 Magnum are 1) .357 in name, 2) .358" in bullet diameter, and 3) ballistics with 125 grain slugs. The cases are completely different and there are no .38 "Specials" for the .357Sig.
Take a look at the cases and you'll see immediately the difference.

I bought a used P226 about 10-12 years ago in .357Sig and bought a .40S&W barrel for it. I shot less than 50 rounds of .357Sig and then changed out the barrel to the .40 and never looked back.
As you probably already have seen the mags will say .357 and .40.

At the time when I was buying there were a buttload of used P226 in .357 Sig configurations due to a lot of law enforcement turnovers. Simple decision and I never got excited about the .357Sig. I can get my .40 reloads to equal and exceed the .357Sig performance. Again simple.
