When I opened the campfire tonight something caught my eye. (The Mickey Coleman sticky)
I had to wonder how am I going to know when to put my feeders out this year.I looked forward to his first sighting and knew when he posted the infamous "Hummers" thread I needed to clean them up and get them out on the porch.
Another reason we will miss you Mickey.

Another reason we will miss you Mickey. I hoped that this would be what this thread was about. I'll have several sugar feeders out this year because I really like those flying hat pins, and to honor Mickey.
America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

I decided to add a second feeder this year just for Mickey.
Last year one of those jouster's damn near speared me out in the yard, I was bent over and stood up and the sucker grazed th left side of my head, I had a pretty good laugh.

Six more weeks here. I always put my first feeders out on April 15th. I have seldom seen a bird before May1, but have done so just often enough to warrant the early setout.
I know in my heart that his birds will miss Mickey as much as we do.
Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

I had sugar feeders in Pa. and although the did attract Hummers, they attracted a lot of ants , and more then a few bears..........

A friend of mine posted a video on Facebook about handfeeding a hummer.
It was really cool and I immediately thought of Mickey and thought that was something he would do.
I sure miss him. Feeders go up in a couple of weeks.

I think that I will wait a couple of weeks. Weather guessers are calling for 2-5 inches of sleet-snow Wednesday night. I saw some in Corpus Christi Dec. 26 when I was down there. I always thought they went to South America, but I guess it was just South. miles

Paul, That's not it. I wish I knew how to embed a Facebook video (it's different than a YouTube or Google video) as it shows an older person's hand holding what looks like a red bottle cap with a floating yellow plastic flower and the hummingbird sitting on the end of the person's finger drinking and fluffing it's feathers. Really cool! Ed

One time when I was taking a whizz in the back yard, one came and inspected my manhood from a distance of about a foot. He looked a long time but I could not tell if he was impressed, or not.  miles
