it will top 85 here today. Nights are in the mid sixties. I can't imagine living where it snows, and is cold this late in the year.

Years ago, but at this time of year, I spent a long week in the Tequesta area with my then girlfriend. We were staying at her folks ancient condo in a retirement community. I was bored out of my mind, but the weather was amazing.

I came back the color of Tonto and with a half-pickled liver. Great, relaxing vacation.

yep, 85 here today, or close to 80 anyway, will drop to 30s by dark.

The thing I hate most, once we get to 85 plus, we can be weeks away from months of 100s...

I think monhts of 100s has to be as bad as months of winter.

Though I will admit to a long enough streak of wet/almost freezgin temps here that with a strong N or NE/E wind, I've gotten tired of trying to work out in it last Sunday and manned the wood stove instead.

Be nice to see half a foot of snow though once...

A high of 60 here today with approximately 1" of rain forcast for today through tomorrow afternoon, which will be followed by a arctic blast turning the tail end of the precip to freezing rain/sleet/snow with a single digit low Thursday night.

Hey, Woody - I trust you and your bride are faring well. I talked to my guys over in Mills County a couple hours ago and they said the sun was out and things were shaping up well for you guys there. It was raining and about 40* when we woke up this morning, went to Fayetteville about 9 am for a Dr appt. Left the Doc's office about 10:30 in sleet, by the time we got home (about 20 miles) we had about 1/2" of sleet on the ground and the temp had dropped to 25*. Now it is 23* and snowing . . . so far about 1-2" and still coming down. BTW - 1-2" down here is akin to 10" for y'all up there. It is supposed to be sunny and in the 50's by Saturday. No wonder folks down here get sick all the time wink .

Yet another half a foot coming tonight. Temps got to the low 40s today. Snow compacted a bit today, but it's still waist deep.Temps drop to zero for Friday and Saturday but temps look like they're flipping next week well into the 40's.
Meltdown and flooding soon. tis the season.

Flooding from melting snow and heavy rain here and anywhere from 6"-12" by tomorrow evening. We have a backup generator, bottled water, and we're retired so travel is not a must. Our house is on a ridge so high water doesn't get us.

I bought a new snowblower for our house down here when we moved here last fall. It's real nice, but the novelty has worn off....way off.

Woody, here's a phone shot from a couple days ago in front of my buddy's place. We've had more snow since, and more to come I'm sure. Confident we're going to break the record for most snow in a season shortly, actually. I think we're 3 or maybe 4 short. Rah, rah!

It's allready hit here in N. TX. Temp is 25 and falling and it's sleeting right now. 3rd ice storm here in two weeks, now. I'm ready for spring to get here so I can do some bass & crappie fishing!

Sun came out for the first time in over a month. Had to get out and a some cell pics. First one isn't mine though--had some help with a drone looking down the shore. Nice warm up to 18*. I think the worst of winter is over.

And Flyboy, if'n you need to borrow my leaf blower, just say the word. wink

Leighton....do you ski?

I am skiing several times a week at Wachusett Mtn which is just up the road from here. 70 inch base depths and the cold have produced absolutely fabulous skiing. I skied Bretton Woods in NH last week and we have more snow here in central Mass. than they do in NH and VT.

I am loving this winter...!!

Hey there, friend. Long time. Good to see you still around. Yes, I ski. Used to do it a lot, but haven't in quite a few years. I have some foot issues, and after less than an hour in ski boots every moment in the boots is agonizing, even with supposedly extra wide boots. The next time I'm in Japan we may try to get a trip to the Japan alps. My wife has told me that boot manufacturers in Japan design theirs to typical Japanese feet, which is to say, w-i-d-e. We'll see. Glad to hear you're having fun.

I used to be able to ski from the opening of the resort until closing, now after 2-3 hours my quads are completely shot and just asking for it if I push it beyond that.

I did discover the Sitzmark.
