I'm in the market for an AK74. I owned a 74 previously and loved it as a plinker. Are the arsenal ones worth the money? Atlantic has 74 rifles for a few hundred less that come with the same 1 year warranty as the arsenal.

Recently, I haven't seen any that are worth the money. No way would I ever pay $700+ for any of them. I think the arsenal is supposed to be a good one but the prices are ridiculous.

The Arsenals are very nice, I'd pay more for an Arsenal; but that's me. If your primary use is plinking, either will likely do, but you'll really like the Arsenal.

The problem I have with most AKs on the market is shoddy workmanship and reliability. 500-700$ for an AK is much more than they used to go for, but to make matters worse you gamble everytime you buy one. I'm willing to pay the extra cash for a rifle that is of higher quality, of which the arsenals supposedly are, but I don't know anyone who owned one.
