I gather from my last thread here that there is quite a Ruger following . Lets see em fellas! How about some Ruger porn. 77s and even the #1. Post em up. Targets too.

Here is a Ruger M 77 Express rifle in 270. Note the express rear sight on the barrel. That rear open sight has two positions with it's fold up leaf. It's quite accurate.

Great thread! And lots of guns worth drooling over. Currently no Rugers in my safe, but that is subject to change.
OOPS Forgot! Have a new issue 10/22 SS "target" model (not the old spiral exterior model) with factory stout barrel, but alas I have no pictures of it yet. Took it out for the first time last Thursday and shot up some rodents. At 25 yards it piles all of its bullets on top of one another. Nailed a couple of ground squirrels at a bit over 100 yards with the wind right. Great rifle so far.

Nailed it! Flying under the radar these Rugers. Seems it's all about the Tikkas and Kimbers lately. All these snazzy Rugers just hanging around killing stuff and looking good doing it. Liking it.

It was my walking varmint rig with a 10X Leupold on her. Coupled with a M700 BDL Varmint in the same caliber I had the woodchuck business down pat. Gotta love a nice #1.

Still sitting on my bench waiting for me to get motivated enough to send back to Nikon for a fix. Thanks for the complements, painted the stock myself.

Admittedly, they are not for everyone. But they are great shooters, reasonably lightweight and about as indestructible as you can make a rife. I like them - a lot.

I worked up some elk hunting fodder for a hunting buddy a couple years ago. He uses a boat paddle as well in 300 WM. I was skeptical I must admit. That thing ended up clover leafing 180gr Hornady Spire Points! A healthy charge of RL22 and that baby started to drill some nice little groups. He has killed a couple elk with it since. I've been watching for a deal on one ever since.

77UL that was a 30/06, now a 35 Whelen, target and driver Bisley Hunter I chopped to 5.5" And a target Lipseys 3.5" Bisley 44 Beater New Model 357 I grabbed for less that a Benjamin 10/22 carbine with RSI stock, Power Custom trigger stuff, extended mag release and a K1.5 weaver. It's the wife's and she used it to good effect on tree rats and grouse at a pard's cabin last fall.

Built this one over 40years ago, and its still my favorite pistol. Showing lots of wear, but God knows how many rounds it has fired !! Has never been treated gently.

9.5X64 presently and perhaps someday will become a 375 Ruger.

Couple more to keep it going. Ruger 77 MkII Magnum in 375 H&H. 77 MkII in the manliest of man cartridges.

re finished a stock on 10/22 I got on eBay. nothing fancy but a lot nicer then original that I did with bed liner and got tired of the black. Here is a 44 mag carbine. Hope I can get some blood on it one day.
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

I made those grips for the Single Ten out of a piece of spalled maple I got at the Blade Show last year. I usually like darker wood but that piece just kind of struck me. I was going to make some knife handles out of it but the Single Ten needed nice grips more than any revolver I ever had. The other pair of grips, on my 44 special, are Bubinga.

Thanks for the comments on my Gold Label. I had the engraving done by Jim Small of Madison, GA. He does the engraving on the custom knives my brother and I make and I decided to give him a little challenge. The engraving is deep. I told him I wanted the blind to be able to appreciate it too. He is very talented and does great work.

Those bottom three make me wish I'd had more earning power back when they were just sitting on racks waiting to be purchased.

Ruger has always built classic rifles. Here is one of the new 416 African rifles compared with a 1907 vintage Jeffery 404. Power, weight, handling and balance are virtually identical.

The most great looking Rugers I have seen in a long time. I mean ever. I've got a few but nothing to compare with what I've seen here. Great stuff.

Here is a Hawkeye in 280 Rem I just got two days ago. Looks quite a bit like the one I just got from CDNN. So far it's done the best with 150gr Ballistic tips over 7828. 3 shots in .800". Could live with that, but have to try to improve on it.

Otter, make sure the magazine box is floating when everything is tightened down. That is the number one thing that screws a Ruger in my opinion. If it isn't floating, deepen the grooves on the front and rear of the mag box with a file until it rattles around a little. It won't rattle once the floorplate is closed.
