You got that right....some of the most hideous mounts I've ever seen were life size wolves, coyotes, cats, and fox. Very few taxi's get it right.
Appreciate the advice on this subject. i have shot a lot of coyotes ( 250). I knew i could not shoot a wolf in aug/sep because of the fur . i have seen a LOT of coyotes in the wild and have noticed not only do taxidermist have a hard time, but even artists do to; few get the intensity in the face/eyes/ears. the mtn lion and lynx my taxidermist have done are great. i need to see a coyote/wolf he has done. ron

That mount pictured looks really good!

Phil mounted this lynx for me closed mouth.
It took 2nd in the world at the World Taxidermy Championships that year.

Photos simply don't do this mount justice, it truly looks alive...
