He didn't miss. It's just hard to track then through a pond. And as Pat said..those Texas pigs are tough....they can apparently soak up TTSXs.... Actually they were small pigs. I was trying to be sporting by picking a smaller target. Thats my story, and I'm sticking to it...

Im just getting fragile and sensitive in my old age.... And you want to come down and shoot sod rats with me? They don't resuscitate well. But they are as big as heck this year

I suspect the two-trigger introduction with a target-loaded 12-bore was better than than with one of gunner's big double rifles.
ONE .577 going off is unforgettable...two at the same time? As for me, banging my head on the blind door is my excuse for missing...

That looked like it hurt. Good thing you had Rogers shine for a disinfectant.

a .38-55 in a #1 is rare beast... I've only ever seen one. (And Steve was holding it when I laid eyes on it.) Gorgeous rifle that oozes class.

He didn't miss. It's just hard to track then through a pond. Or the lightweight round didn't gitter done... First retirement project is to sketch up a scaled A5 28 bore...

Carl, The time was a pleasure. I need a bit of time, like an Alaskan brown bear hunt for 2016 and my pending retirement, to sort out life but would really enjoy a Dall sheep hunt very soon after. We will be in touch, trust me on this...

Bobby, George and I would've put the hurt to Becky. grin
I think you have identified sorely missing ingredients. Sure missed getting to chew the fat with you guys, AND Jim. Great folks at this get together, and wonderful accommodations, but you guys are like family that I only get to see once a year. Already looking forward to the next shindig. I do regret not making this gathering. y'all are some of the finest folks I've had the pleasure to share company with and I do include Bob.

We will be in touch, I know that. If you let me tag along on a future sheep hunt of yours, it would be my pleasure Be well.

Ingwe,
I'll be taking the #1 38-55 to Tennessee this April to check out another hog hunting place(hopefully one that actually keeps their word). Will report back on my findings.
But you really are welcome to use the rifle again whenever you choose.
Steve
