Alaska friends,
I purchased a low budget DVD of Alaska the other day and got what I payed for. I'm looking for a DVD that will show the beauty of Alaska. It would be nice for it to have a plot that's based in reality and family friendly.
I've had my mom at our home most of the time since she was told her cancer has come back. I hope we have enough time to take her to Alaska....along with my grandpa who is 94 years old. We may not have the luxury of this much time, but we'll keep the dream alive while she needs so much support at this time.

As an alternative, take a look around youtube. Tons of videos, some very well done.

The Proenneke movies are awesome, takes you back to the old school days of Alaska. Same with the video Bob recommended but it's geared a bit more towards hunting.
I've got a good number of Alaska hunting videos if that's something you're looking for Sherrie and would be happy to share them with you and your family. I think I have some on VHS as well.

Would agree with above suggestions. Also just watched "Over Alaska", a PBS film which I thought was interesting. If you go on Ebay and type in Alaska, then narrow the search to movies, you'll find a lot of different titles. If you have access to a public library nearby, you can request the ones you are interested in watching through the inter-library loan program. No charge to you, they'll hopefully find what you want from another library, and you usually have about a month before you have to return them. Hope this helps, works for me!
