didn't have any on hand, and it was not worth a trip to the store to get some. Pecans worked just fine.

I made some cherry cordial this year, I bet those cherry would be good in the cake!

We used to make those in a dutch oven all the time when camping with the Scouts. We used a boxed yellow cake mix though, it was easy to take to the woods.
I never thought about the nuts, that looks soooo good!
