I wanted something for a more ,"urban" environment. After looking around I decided to try the Beretta CX4 9mm.

This one utilizes the PX4 mags. I have 17 and 20 rounders.

I installed a Vortex Strikefire, green or red dot + a 2x magnifier.

Function; I fired ~400 rounds Saturday, all mixed, from 115gr. to 147gr., flat point, hp, mil ball etc.
Not a single hitch, nada. All brass landed in a 2' circle at about 5 o'clock.

Trigger is a little long but, very repeatable and smooth.

I didn't even attempt accuracy testing and all shots, for all loads, landed in a 3-4" area, at 50 yd.

A lot of plastic, yes.
A smooth action, yes.
A lot of fun, yes.

I took a good lock at both my home locations and decided that 9mm, from a 16" barrel, made sense, for me.

There's a hillbilly trigger job on the innanet, really smooths and lightens it up.

i stuck a 1X Burris IER scout scope on mine, the rear "wings" on the sight do not interfere with the field of view, and so far mine has digested everything it has been fed.

Shot quite well with 147gr Subsonic also....

was going to get one but looked at the difference in size between one and an AR gun. The Colt 6720, TLR-1S, aimpoint T1 micro, 30 RDS of 62 grain federal fusion just made more sense to me, the 9mm just not in the same league.

I have a CX4 in 40, ended up doing the 'Sierra-Papa' trigger upgrade, MUCH better. The stock trigger left a lot to be desired, as mentioned, lots of plastic.

While I was at SP I also got their metal recoil spring rod.

I like it, for the price after some upgrads I think I'd reccomend an AR in 40 or 9 though. It is fun and I plan to keep it.

You have to get all 3 with pistols of the same chambering...

A great house/ wife gun. The safe room has one in .40 sw w/ an aimpoint micro ready to go. My wife is pretty competent and confident w/ her Glock 19 but prefers the CX4 to all others. We run them on the range at work and they are very durable.
