I have no experience with that product. I have been using Wipe-Out exclusively for the last 8 years or so. I let it soak overnight, and give it a zip with a Bore-Snake. I always stick a q-tip in the muzzle first to see how much copper came loose. All my Rugers are dark blue after a good soak. Guessing yours will be too.

Redneck would get my business for that project. +1. Redneck is top notch. You won't regret using him. He has a stellar reputation here and I would not hesitate for a second using his service.

Redneck, Please send me a PM so I can obtain a price list from you for the services you provide. Also what Barrels do you prefer and are able to obtain in a reasonable time? Thanks

I get $185 for CM and $285 for stainles shilen barrels. I do a lot of them and like them. Labor, depending on the type action runs between $210 and $245, bluing would be extra.

I'd skip Minnesoda and stick with the Wisconsin smith.

1. Try hard to clean the heck out of your existing barrel. I too recommend Wipe Out.
2. Dyna Bore Coat gets rave reviews here. I haven't tried it but have read that it virtually eliminates the need to clean...
3. Ruger has long offered a re-barreling service at a very modest fee compared to buying a custom barrel and paying a smith to install it.
