That's where you and I differ.
Preserve and collect these rifles. If they're well used to abused basket cases, then bring them back.
If you place a higher value on a beat to sh#t stock than one that has been professionally re-done and looks original,so be it.

Life is to short to hunt with an ugly gun. If the finish is bad fix it. Would you drive a rust bucket of a car??

Thought most drove rust bucket cars, so they could collect rifles.

I collect/shoot Parker shotguns in addition to my M70 addiction. A lot of time I'm using a gun that's 100+ years old and lets face it there comes a time in every guns life when it needs a little TLC from it's current caretaker. I'm not talking re case color or re blue the metal but it's usually the wood that takes the brunt of wear in the field and to freshen it up not only preserves it against further damage but increases the eye appeal as well.

When I got mine the stock was messed up and ugly enough that a refinish was a no-brainer. smile

Thanks! Unfortunately, it's been refinished, so it's basically worthless. No character and all that.

Very nice! I love the tone of the finish along with the case coloring.

Bob you have a nice shooting Parker there. The gun has been restocked (so what I've done it myself) and recased but by someone who knew what they were doing. Do you know if the gun originally came with the Beavertail forearm? If you PM me the serial number I can see if it's in the book. I love those RST shells and shoot all 2 1/2 in all my Parkers.

A great gun that will continue to provide service for generations to come.

Thanks for the compliment! Sent you a PM but it kicked back. I lettered the gun; forend is non-original. Built 1904 and re-stocked by JJ Jenkins in CA. Yeah, it's restocked and refinished, but I like it and use it. Oh, well...
