Usually we have a 6 month wait for delivery when we hear about new products from Ruger. They are right on the ball this time with the new 4.2 inch SP101 in 327.

I heard about the new release right here, week end before last. And called a local dealer with my request that Monday. Well, the dealer called today. The revolver is in their store waiting for me. I will get over there this Saturday and pick it up.

Finally.....the SP101 I have wished for for years. To think, I almost bought a Charter Patriot a couple years back to get a four inch barrel. I am glad I waited.

Saturday evening!

I have the 4 5/8 Single Seven. 3 gr of Universal or even 4.3 gr of SR 4756 will suppress most of the fireball and a lot of the offensive crack.

But 21 gr of H110 will light up the front porch when I touch it off at night.

I'm picking up mine tomorrow. Should be the perfect match for my 4.2" 22lr SP-101.

That's cheap entertainment!

I bet it is scary accurate though.

A friend has a couple and they are bank vault tight.

Damn! That's fast for Ruger on a new release! Thinking of buying my elderly Mom a SP101 as a house gun.

Is this the standard barrel similar to the 4" SP101 222LR ?
If so, this would be the "cats azz"

What a COOL pair to own!

Have the 22LR and would LOVE to have the 327 to go with.

Ruger used the trapezoidal barrel contour from the .357 4" SP101. Not what I would have preferred, but it balances nicely.

Not questioning your veracity but is that a typo? 16 or 17 grains of H110 is a max load in a .357 Magnum with 158 grain bullets while 21 grains H110 is near top end in a .357 Remington Max. Could that be 11 grains?

Picked mine up today. Very well fitted, but shipped dry from Ruger so a good oiling was in order. Weighs the same as my 4.2" 22lr SP101 despite having a different barrel contour. Looking forward to shooting it this weekend. Will post a range report then.

GOOD CATCH!

Wow, that was a total brain fart. I run 21 gr H110 in the 41 mag.

Let's try 12.8 gr H110 with a 115 in the 327. I had some good data that the 327 would run up to 13.5 gr H110 with the 115, but it was too hot in my single seven. I did not get smooth extraction until I got down to 12.8 gr.
