Oregon Coot;
Thanks again for the clarification. As I mentioned we'd been specifically asked about it when crossing south and were told it was not allowed - but then that was a decade or almost that back so there you go.

I'm glad to read that border officers on both sides have seen fit to relax a bit on the bear spray issue, especially since they've not relaxed on bringing firearms along in either direction.

Thanks again sir and all the best to you folks this summer.

Dwayne

I have an 870 Remington pump in 12 gauge that is about worn out from being hauled back and forth across the Medicine Line. (Learned that name for the border from you and Sid Marty). I just fill out the required paperwork and no sweat, especially if my final destination is Alaska. It has never left the camper, but it is a little reassuring when camping in bear country. Bear spray wouldn't work well on a bear coming into the camper, I don't think.

Fred;
Ah that's gratifying indeed to hear.

We've got a dearth of Breneke slugs up here which from all reports is the best bear medicine. My personal camping pump gun contains a Canadian loaded Gualandi slug that seems to have good field reports.

It's much less simple for us to travel south with a camping arm unfortunately, but again one can either dwell on the negatives in life - or not - I'll choose not if its all the same. wink

Bear spray isn't grand inside a tent either Fred - that from some credible sources who had a grizzly jump on their tent while sheep hunting near Radium a few years back.

It's always a pleasure conversing with you sir.
