"Alan Olsen
Hello Friends,

Second Amendment Rights in Jeopardy!

What’s in the news this week at the Oregon Legislature? Yet another attempt to erode our constitutionally codified right to self-defense. Three gun control bills have been introduced: SB941 introduced by Senator Floyd Prozanski, (D) from Eugene; SB 525 introduced by Senator Laurie Monnes-Anderson (D) Gresham; and SB 945 introduced by Senator Steiner-Hayward (D) Portland.

SB 941 expands background checks and was passed expeditiously through the Senate Judiciary Committee on a 3-2 partisan vote. We will be debating this bill on the Senate floor on Tuesday, April 14th.

SB 525 would prohibit someone who has a restraining order (regardless of guilt or innocence) from purchasing or owning a firearm.

SB 945 would make it a crime to have an unlocked gun in your home anytime a “minor” is present. This bill also has the potential to punish a gun owner who has their weapons stolen, by an unwanted intruding minor.

We have been able to defeat gun control legislation in previous sessions because we did not have a super majority of Democrats with a Portland-centric agenda. Now that they have the super majority control they are intent on infringing your Constitutional liberty.

I continue to oppose gun control legislation for the following reasons:

- Violates both your Oregon and Federal Constitutional rights.
- Does not guarantee any reduction of violent gun related crimes.
- Does not guarantee any reduction of gun related accidents.
- Sets us on a path of continued erosion of Second Amendment rights.
- Diminishes a person’s ability to protect themselves and their families.
- Invades your privacy and freedom.
- It is poised to punish law abiding gun owners with onerous and overly broad restrictions.

I am now, and will continue to be a strong supporter of our Second Amendment rights and therefore, a no vote on gun control legislation. I will keep you apprised of the activity on SB 941 SB 945 and SB 525 in my future Newsletters and News Alerts.

Please reach out to the following Senators and express your opinion since we don’t know their position on these bills."

Prozanski from Eugene, and Alan Bates from Ashland are the two sponsors of it according to my Senator's Office.... Herman Baertschigar....

This is the only state that the Democrats came out smelling like a rose during the last election...and they are trying to take ALL the advantage of it that they can....

I hope ever one of them end up serving serious jail time for violating our second amendment rights...

over 2/3s of Oregon Counties' Sheriff's Depts have already told the state that they are not going to enforce this stupid proposed law....

I called Alan Bates office as a constituent, and his staff member was telling me how the law wasn't going to effect any law abiding gun owner, only the criminals...

these leftist clowns believe their own BS....

and Potland's Ginny Burdick is the biggest Hillary Style Bimbo of them all...

The Crap they are sending out to the public...
As follows:

A few clicks. That's all it takes for a dangerous criminal to buy a gun in Josephine County.

That's because Oregon currently lets anyone sell a gun to a stranger they meet online -- no questions asked.

Today we're releasing a report where we looked into these online gun sales and made some pretty frightening discoveries. Meth users, felons, and domestic abusers are trying to evade background checks and buy guns online.

Fortunately, Oregon lawmakers are considering a bill to require everyone buying a gun to get a background check -- no matter where they buy it or who sells it to them. But your lawmakers need to know the facts before they vote, and that's where you come in.

Send your lawmakers in Salem the report about Oregon's vast online gun market to show them how many guns are available for sale online in Josephine County -- with no questions asked.

Our report shows that unlicensed sellers in Oregon post more gun ads online each week than they sell at gun shows in a full year. Of the people seeking guns in unlicensed, online sales, one in 18 are barred from owning guns by state or federal law. At this rate, unlicensed sellers in these markets could transfer 1,360 guns to criminals each year.

That's why Oregon's lawmakers should vote YES on SB 941 to require criminal background checks for all gun sales -- the most effective way to keep guns out of the wrong hands.

With more and more gun ads posted online each week, and the gun lobby actively rallying support against this life-saving measure, NOW is the time to take action.

Please make sure your representatives have this crucial information about Oregon's unchecked online gun market. Send the report to your legislator now, and tell them to vote YES on SB 941:

Not surprised that those lying bastards are holding a hand out for donations. Doomberg is willing to tap into his billions to undermine the Constitution and let the idiots reimburse him at the same time.

Well, I admit to not having TV or newspaper, so I have not heard of squat, not even this thing until 2-3 days ago. I wonder if the media is covering this, or covering it up?

Of course, their idea of covering it is to just spread lies.

I haven't heard anything either, and rats prefer to feed and breed in the dark. The "news" will be released after they've screwed us.

We had a law like this passed in NY. Over 13,000 showed up in Albany in protest but the law still stands. The ONLY WAY you'll ever regain your rights and do away with unconstitional laws is to put the 2nd to use as intended. Until that happens, the tyrants will continue to tread on the BOR with impunity.

According to this article dated April 6, it made it out of a senate committee and is headed to the full senate.

There is a simple response to these clowns...

Screw Salem and Screw every God Damned DemocRAT in Oregon...

just more "its for the children" to make every soccer mom in the state feel like her concerns actually matter...and like she is making a contribution to "Change the world..."

personally I hope some of these bimbos and politicians experience break ins in their homes and have to deal with an armed criminal that they wish they had a firearm to defend themselves....

I refuse to comply with this communistic crap...

we need to register democrats along with pedophiles... as both are a threat to this nation and its future...

John: non-compliance is the only way to go. If When they pass this crap and you want to buy a gun, other than from a dealer....just buy it. If anybody asks later, you bought it f to f in an out of state purchase arrangement.

But nobody will ask...

Just more proof that Voting does have consequences, as does Staying home on election day in protest.

A lot of them DO have guns. Anti-gun laws are for the proletariat, not the elite.
