I've posted this image before:
[Linked Image]

but I need some help from members to locate some 150r Hornady SST ammo, BECAUSE it shoots like this:

[Linked Image]

And I get the feeling, Hornady no linger manufactures it. It also likes the regular 150s as well as the 174 Woodleighs, but man, what can I say about that 5 shot group!

Not a fan of the SMLE myself, but lots of Canadians seem to have a bond with them, eah?

Jorge,

Not bad for $250 if you are happy with it. Certainly shoots that ammo rather well...

You might try 3Lees in Grand Island, NE, as they seem to have a connection with Hornady.

info3Lees.net

Their website, www.3Lees.net is nearly worthless, but you can email them at info3Lees.net with your wants and they are pretty good about responding in a timely manner.

That is a nice custom stock on your rifle, most 303 customs that i see have ugly stocks. Had a LEO friend several years ago who had a friend repay him a $40 debt with an original Jungle Carbine that was missing the safety.

I have done a few and while they are not top flight customs are more than enough for me. This is my personal 303 and it will be a keeper. This was the first one I did where I made the grip cap and the forend tip out of buff horn and was rather pleased with how it finished up.

Nearly finished this one I have as a 400 with a slightly shortened 405 Win cartridge. Ebony rather than buff horn but it will take 5 down with the 320gn cast bullet at about 2300fps, so going to be a bit of fun to play with.

This was a 375-303 that I stocked for a friend

Have done another couple of 303's but the 303 dosent have to be a clunker.

von gruff: a 5 shot mag would really make that a sleek little shooter!

Of course, if you are culling, the ten shotter sure comes in handy grin

jorgeI, I swear I wish you hadn't posted this. I've always liked the looks of a Lee Enfield sporter that is well done. I've got one with a tupperware stock stuck in the back of my safe somewhere. Seeing the pictures posted in this thread, by you, ingwe, and VonGruff, makes me want to dig it out and get to work on it. I hope to make mine an iron sight rifle, with some straight grain walnut in a classic style and maybe some checkering on the grip.

I was hoping to make it through 2015 with out another project, but I don't guess I made it…

Yes, nothing wrong with these rifles. Reminds of some things I've heard in life.

"Make do, do without;
Use it up, wear it out"

But there is always the opportunity to do it with a little style.

Trying to find a 5 shot mag, but they are rare and expensive. I asked a GS I know has made them and he said $250 and over a year to get it and I wanted three of them as I have stocked a couple of these for friends. I missed out on one the other day (didn't see the auction) that went for $160 and that would have been a good buy.
That is what I am looking for as it will make this a really good carrying rifle. Let me know if you have access to one.
