Not to derail your thread, but Huber has their triggers $70 off right now. So a two stage trigger can be had for $325. Just thought I'd mention this in case you weren't aware of it. Maybe another option to consider

Just use COUPON CODE HUBER325

That's cool thanks!

I am not currently in the market, have a Shilen Match trigger or whatever they call it and saw an add for this one and wondered how it was.

I had rather have the Shilen at the same price, but they are a lot less expensive.

I can understand to some extent wanting a 2 stage trigger on a AR platform, but on a Rem 700 bolt gun I would never consider a 2 stage ever

I have them on two M700 based target rifles, very common for LR and XTC competition. If a GOOD two stage weren't so expensive, I'd have them on all my M700 hunting rifles as well. And yes, I leave the military trigger in my Mausers and Springfields. I'm used to them, think they are safer (requiring a longer deliberate pull), and properly setup the aftermarket ones give as good a break as any hunting rifle single stage.

many folks like you are simply ignorant of what a good 2 stage trigger is.

I was for many years.

I don't go looking for them on my bolt gun hunting guns today, but they are really easy to use, IMHO are safer than single stage triggers, and take very little getting used to.

If you can't get used to them, its all in your brain. If I got used to them anyone can.

That doesn't mean you have to, but there is no reason not to use one.

Can anyone explain to me how a trigger for a 700 is $400? I have a Jewell and can't imagine anything being $200 better. powdr

2-stages usually cost more.

It has probably been sold to the govt which seems to always raise the price of everything.

Limited production.

Yup. 2 x 200 = 400.
