Have you ever had a 'hankerin'? I've had one a long time! I've got this hankerin to shoot a turkey gobbler through the head with my Shiloh 45 2 7/8 and I believe I can do it....provided the ole gobbler will hold his head a mite still for a few seconds. I've never had a 100 yard zero on this Sharps as I shoot it mostly at LR; closest I've ever had is a 200 yard zero so this past weekend I took it to the range and got a 100 yard zero so as to have a starting point for a possible 'hold requirement' betwixt 40-75 yards. Took me four rounds to get it like I wanted it but it's there now. There's six rounds toward the center of this bull. If I hadn't called two off toward 7 o/clock the group would be really tight! Going turkey hunting in a couple days up in Kansas but my 'hankerin' will have to be just that because I can't legally shoot a rifle during their Spring turkey season! Oh well......

Naw Rick! A .45-2-7/8 aint goodnuff fer turkeys y'all need a .44-2-6/10, they will hit the eye ball better so you only take off the head. That 110 will destroy to much good meat.

Way I got it figured though Kurt...that .44 bullet just ain't big enough! If I should miss with the .45...the wind off it could possibly take the gobbler off his feet so I could run out and beat the stuffin out of him with the buttplate!!

Oh...BTW...good shooting!!

Yep, your right Rick. Those big .45 torpedoes do push a lot of air, that's for sure! but that's better to miss that turkeys head close so that wind pushed would be like giving him a horizontal buttstroke and not make such a mess grin

Woody.

Looking at your signature crossfireoops, I think it's more fitting for me. Had three of them at the last midrange match in one relay shooting into the early morning Sun on the 200 yard line laugh

Shoot them through the wingbutts...where legal, of course. DRT and no breast meat damage. smile
