They would make a good concealed carry piece IMO I don't need a wondernine.

I might know where one of those resides.

Picked up a 64 (stainless version) a few years ago. Obviously a police/security guard turn-in as it is DA only. Lucked into some finger groove Combats on another forum to replace the worn-out rubber grips. With home-cast bullets and couple of grains of powder I can shoot it as cheap as a 22. K Frame 38s are a lot of fun.

That's sexy! I have a M64 3" heavy barrel with round butt. Buffalo Bore loads makes it just about perfect for a CCW six gun. I have other K-frames but that "petite round butt" gets the most attention.

Carried a 2 1/2", Mod. 66, for about 30 yrs working for the SO. Best back-up gun around, bar none!

For a sidebar:

What has now become an old friend of mine used to shoot nothing but .38 spcl's out of his old 3" .357 he used to take camping with us up in the north central FL woods. Told me "if I can't get it done with these, then I'm a hurtin' gator", referring to close range. (Basically, he didn't want to pay the premium to run .357). Fast Forward to now. Right? Funny little sumbitch.

When he first got back from his extended vacation in SEA, he was kinda wondering what he'd do with the rest of his life. Good guy, so I got him to working with me for a while.

Parents owned a restaurant out near the beach for many years near where I grew up. He later took it over.

---------

I saw that $285 deal on Bud's, too. But, I'd rather have the stainless that bcolorado has for a little more. Got all I need, but I can heavily arm family or friends with that one. smile

Also, I wouldn't want to be standing in front of the Buffalo Bore ammo I've gotten in the last year or so. smile

My M13, same configuration as your M64, has been my regular carry for a few years now. It carries all day just fine IWB, and there are damned few handguns I can shoot better. Gold Dot .38 Specials are what reside in the cylinder.

I actually saw an L frame that was a rental gun at an indoor range in Mpls that was shot so much it was literally a smoothbore. I have no idea how many rounds that took.

That looks vaguely familiar.

I've read a lot of departments did that during the roaring 20's.

Pretty cool.
