The replacement for the Big Red came home. I think it is an improvement in all respects but one. It has a locked rear axle. The differential on the Big Red was a lot easier on turf. This one is hard on my lawn. It lives in my basement so I have to drive it around the side of the house.

I almost bought one. But I decided that I'm going to wait for right now to buy a sxs. I went with a 2015 Honda Foreman Rubicon.

I don't know why Honda came up with the locked rear axle other than just being cheap. My old Kaw ATV has a lever on the side of the engine that locks it if needed. It turns on a dime.

I've got a buddy that has one of those, he had some major issues with it when he first bought it but the dealership finally got it fixed.

I've been trying to talk my wife into buying one but she really loves her 09 RancherAT and doesn't want to sell it.

Congrats on the new ride badger!

Very nice! I'm going to go look at the 4 seater version on Saturday. Can't decide if it's a good thing or a bad thing I don't have my trailer available right now...

Just being cheap I guess. The one advantage is that it allows them to use a single disc brake on the driveshaft, which keeps it somewhat out of the mud. My Big Red was tough on rear brake pads in muddy conditions. Twin inboard discs and a rear differential would've been the best of both worlds.

Nice. Going to play in the mud this weekend with mine. Winch is installed, along with a light bar, roof and windshield.

About 14 000 lumens for 17A draw. Not bad at all. I tossed the stock Honda battery and upgraded to an Optima Yellow Top to help handle the extra draw from the light, winching etc.

I'm thinking I could like that light bar. Might consider that. Have a hard roof and windshield on the way. Plan is to use it a bit and then try to decide what else I 'need'.

BTW, you setup for working on it is better than mine. I get to roll around in the dirt...

Is that a 30" light bar? I've got a 20" on my Rhino and when I turn it on it turns night into day. I mounted mine on the roof so it wouldn't get covered with mud or damaged by tree limbs/brush.

Now all you need are some Mud Bugs or Mud Lite XTR's and you're ready to rock.

30". Had a 20" on the Big Red and wanted another, but couldn't find a suitable mounting place for it. Mounting it on the roof is not an option for me, as we have enough woods and low overhanging branches and vines that would remove it in short order.

The stock tires actually look pretty good, I think I'll run them for a while. I had Kenda Executioners on the Big Red and they worked great. I will probably go with them again when I need replacements.

It looks good, those lights are freakin amazing and use hardly any juice. Is that the Kolpin split windshield?

Nope, Genuine Honda Hardcoat split w/shield. It fits better and has quick release fasteners so you can remove it in about a minute for trailering.

Here's a link to the light bar. Amp draw is less than I remembered.

I found with the Kolpin split windshield that it rattles where the 2 windshields come together when I'm sitting there idling so I added a piece of 3/4"w x 1/4" thick where the 2 meet. Haven't had a chance to test it out yet but I hope that fixes that annoying rattling.

I bought my light bar from a guy I know from a Rhino Forum and got a good deal on it. My buddies like my lightbar so much I ordered 2 more from him.

Those things are incredible.

They say admitting you have a problem is the first step toward recovery.

I'll admit, it is kinda nice to see where you're going before you get there.
