Not mine, but here is a problem I've never seen. 1970's home with a submersible pump, 1" galvanized under the house to the galvanized pressure tank in the garage. The pump seems to cut-in/out fine and is not short cycling, however the tank is real noisy. It's difficult to describe, but sounds like a loud rattling racket. The noise diminishes as the pressure increases and stops when the pump shuts off. I'm wondering if it's a haywire ball check valve or? Anyone ever run into something like this?

If it's a bladder tank, the bladder may have broke, and is hitting the side as the tank fills.

Older fiberglass lined tank, fiberglass inside cracked/broken, and is rattling.

May be time for a new tank. I'm on my 3rd in 38 years.
