Will be trying something new this year. 2nd season unit 68. Have a travel trailer and plan on using one of the three campgrounds in the area. Any tips on what part of the unit is best?

I always see elk back toward San Luis Peak but not sure how close you would be able to get.

San Luis Peak is on the divide between Unit 66 and 67 well west of 68 according to Google Maps and the CPW Hunting Atlas. Thanks for the info anyway. This is beautiful country to see.

I scouted and hunted 68 in first season a few years back. The access is excellent throughout the unit, which means the elk boogie out of there when the pressure comes first season. I would work the migration corridors on the west side leading into 67 and plan to sit those.

The dark timber on the north side of Lookout Mountain seems to always hold a good bull and also Alan creek has been productive for us.
