I have a Styer Prohunter in 6.5x57 Mauser. Comes with a Leupold Vari-x II 4-12x40 With Adjustable OBJ. Rifle is in great shape scope is crystal clear. Around 50 factory rods . Have rcbs die for it. Free bump for great rifle, They were never catalogued for the US, I was told there were 4 in the country. Yours and mine make two of them. Mine will shot MOA and less with many loads.

The distributor in Alabama? Rifle is at Daughters right now, About 7 years ago. Do you know different? I know you have many Steyrs and have had many more.

Looked at the box, still have that no distributor name. Huntsville? Can't remember.. Steyr hat is still in the box however. Guess I should take that out.

I know its a low number, but 4 its not.
Good deal here. I always thought the x55 and x 57's should have been put in the short 3.15" actions. I don't know why they went with the 06 length.

I bought mine off Gunbroker when Steyr changed distributers, about 7 years ago. That was what they told me, I have not really kept up on Steyr's as to what is catalogued. They do not offer that caliber now however. It is a great rifle at a very good price with all the accessories. The X55 and X57 seem to the in-between rounds, just a bit to long for short actions, and those 6.5mm bullets are some long ones.

2 of the most accurate hunting weight rifles I have ever seen were Prohunters. Both .270's. I firmly believe one of them would have been competitive at a local level benchrest match. Good luck on your sale sir.
