For Immediate Release
Hi-Point Pistol "Bear Gun"
...the rest of the saga
MKS Supply, LLC, Dayton, Ohio, May 2015 - During the summer of 2014, Jim Landess of Sterling, Alaska, defended his son, dog and home by shooting and killing a 9-foot Brown Bear with his Hi-Point .45ACP handgun.
Now for the rest of the story...
Since we told you this in a press release last July/August, several of our media friends have asked what happened as a result of his publicized gunfight with the big bear that was trying to rip his way into the family's house in the dark of night.
Landess is not a hunter and not rich, either, but he likes to fish and felt he needed a robust, reliable, low-cost gun for fishing trips and home protection. The affordable Hi-Point .45 fit that need almost perfectly.
At the time, we also learned that Jim was saving his money to buy a companion .45ACP Hi-Point Carbine, which uses the same ammunition and magazines as the Hi-Point pistol. So the Hi-Point Company and MKS Supply - the exclusive marketer for Hi-Point - decided to speed up that process: Before the year was out, they quietly sent Jim a new, fully equipped Hi-Point Carbine at no charge to keep his handgun company.
So now and for some time Jim Landess has a Hi-Point handgun and matching carbine to use for wilderness adventures or home defense.
