Anyone have any experience with one on a 708? I'm about to put one on a 708, just wondering how well it works.

My son made several nice shots season before last with his 7-08. We used a Burris FFII 3-9x40 with the Ballistic Plex reticle. He used it with success on an antelope at 240 yards (first big game animal), Mule Deer buck (1st deer) across the canyon at 477 yards, and his first elk at 360 yards. So...FWIW we believe in that type of reticle.

I will say that he and I were reminiscing of a missed shot the year prior on a 27" mule deer because I failed to remind him to crank the scope up to 9x power. Blew that opportunity at about 320 yards due to a little buck fever. It was awesome!😀

I ended up putting a Leupold 2.5-8 with the Boone and Crockett reticle on my new 708. I've not had a chance to go stretch it out and see how well it works but it certainly isn't as "busy" as some scopes I've looked through.

Meopta's BDC reticle is really nice IMO.

My Kimber 7mm08 wears a 2.5-8x36 with the "Dogzapper" reticle. I can't say that I hate it in the least.

If the rains and wind hold off tomorrow I'll be seeing how well a Kimber Montana 708 does out to 400-500 yds with the B&C and 120 Noslers. By far the best feeling rifle/scope combo I have ever felt.

Got one of the same on a 338-06.
I'm not likely to change it out.
