I would think Guava, if not fresh, then certainly Guava paste, Jam, and canned shells would be available everywhere.
The fruit works well in pastry, pie, jams, cheesecake, hot sauce and a host of other applications.
In Miami, hundreds of small shops sell pastelitoes de Guayaba, or pastries filled with Guava and Cream Cheese.
A quick and easy way to enjoy this at home, is to just put together Guava paste and cream cheese, on Raisin bread. I heat the paste first in the microwave, to soften it. Absolutely delicious.
