Kinda the current day version of what you have, but nowhere near as cool.

The Colt in the pic is on "long term loan" to me from a very dear friend. The Colt was his father's sidearm many years ago, and the "hard life" is from Dad not getting all the solvent off the factory nickel finish in time. Good Lord does this thing shoot. I got this 1948 Colt at a pawn shop with incorrect grips. Some forum tells me those are Python grips and don't beat them up. So I bought some old plastic grips on Ebay for $5 +$6 shipping. Then some forum tells me that those are Franzite grips, don't beat those up.
