But I'm doing them tomorrow instead of Monday...

However, the potato salad is ready:

6 of 'em...That is the Better Homes & Gardens recipe, utter perfection, and there is no better to be found (anywhere)...

That looks great sse, but pretty much every potato salad I've had runs second best to my mom's. Not taking anything away from you as I'm sure it tastes great, but it must be what you're raised with, right?? The bad thing is there's no recipe for hers. She makes it like my grandmother taught her and even though I've watched and tried to get her to measure it out, it never tastes the same when Lori and I make it.

That being said, I'm doing ribs tomorrow too despite the $hitty forecast we have. Got the cooker loaded with lump and wood tonight to get a leg up on the weather and am going to throw some beef dinosaur ribs on at about 10:00 a.m. You doing spares or baby backs?

Mike

Your potato salad looks just like the one my wife makes, though we mash (lightly) our potatoes, and include eggs! Always one of the highlights of the summer barbeque season.

It's not me, it's the recipe, and is more than adequate for all who don't have the singular privilege to sample your mom's. My own mother rarely made it. I consider it to be quintessential Americana.

BTW, what's with people not putting eggs in their tater salad? That kind of kicks "quintessential Americana" in the nuts as far as I'm concerned.

I always put eggs in my potato salad. I like firm potatoes though. I cut them first, and then boil 'em.

Exactly how they turned out. If they don't still have a good firmness, they whip up and become a part of the dressing.

Looks ready, so there will be rhubarb pie.

Maybe.

OTOH, I just got a great recipe from ATK, that incorporates a sauce with a strong dill dressing/flavor...can't wait to try it, but I just planted the dill yesterday.

Nicely done sse, juicy with good smoke penetration......a win win! Did you have some cherry wood in the cooker? I'm hungry enough to eat a full rack right now, or at least it feels like it. Haven't done baby backs for a while as I've been on this beef rib kick since my Texas trip. My ribs have about an hour to go. Pics to follow.
