Went out with the builder to a private pond and learned a few things. My casting technique was very good and precise, but I didn't know squat about line control at the reel end of the darn thing. Plus, I wasn't catching any fish on top water baits while he was hauling in several small bass. He gave me a bait, one that sinks and told me to treat it like a crawdad on a spinner. Let it sink and lift it off the bottom and let it sink again. Ta Daaa! Fish weren't interested in poppers that day. Nothing of any size, but about 11 to 13 inches average. Fun though.

Out of curiosity, whose blank did the rodmaker use? He used an "MHX" blank.
