The Wife and I will be in New Orleans in mid September and are going to rent a car and do a little road trip South around Grand Isle. I'm hoping to rent a small boat or kayaks and look for some reds or whatever else is in the area. I'll be using a fly rod (7,8,10 wt) and my wife a spinning rod. I've looked at the guide route and am open to that but I always like the DIY approach as I get more satisfaction out of doing my own thing if it's realistic.
My questions are-
Where we can rent boat/kayak?
Lures/flys?
areas to fish?
Any help and input would be appreciated.
