Anyone have any load data for Norma MRP they would like to share? I would like to give it a try in my 300WSM, 30-06 AI and 6.5x55. Data is pretty scarce out there.

Data is as scarce as the powder is! Let me know of your source for the powder and I'll give you some data! ;-)

Actually, Bob Hagel's book is the source for all the data I use. It won't say MRP, it will say N205, but reduce 10% and work up.

There are powders that are packaged under more than one brand name. An example is H-110 and WW-296 suppose to be the same powder.

RL-22 and MRP are suppose to be the same. If you use the data work up slowly!

My comments were a bit tongue-in-cheek. Powder Valley has been a Norma source for about 10 years,or so. IME, it's rare to see a can of MRP on a dealer's shelf.

MRP is the best powder for MY 7x57. Shoots 140 NPTs at 2895 and MOA.

Steve,

I have been using MRP for something like 20 years, but I bought out the MRP supply in a gun shop that was going out of business years ago. I shoot it mostly in my 6mm Rem and 6.5-'06, and have used it in 7mm RM and .22-.243. Norma shows MRP data in their manual for 6.5X55 for 100 gr bullets and up. I haven't seen any data for '06 Improved or .300 Whizzum. My only loading for '06 Improved was with IMR 4350.

good luck...jim

I've used MRP for a long time........it's really good in both the 270 Win, 280 Rem, 7mm Mag and 338 Win, but there are better choices for an 'o6.

The Norma site referenced in another poster's reply is a good source as is Wolfe Publishing "Propellant Profiles" and Ken Waters "Pet Loads" series.

IME, the load data for RL22 has been inter-changable although the powders are NOT the same..........color is different, granules are different and MRP slows better.

They also come from different manufacturing plants as well.

Thanks for the help. I'll play around with it and see out in pans out.
