Yesterday I loaded some W760 behind some .375 250 grain TTSX for about 3,000 feet per second. The recoil seemed significantly stoughter than my TSX 270 grain loads with IMR4320 so I fired one. The velocity for the one was 2,928 feet per second. And just like I thought the recoil was noticably less.
Just to make sure I loaded three 250 grainers with the IMR4320. The velocity was 3,082 feet per second. Again the recoil seemed quite a bit less than the W760 loads.
Anyone else notice this with different powers?
P.S. The W760 group was 6" and the IMR4320 was 1 1/8".

All the time... and another reason, with all the newer powders constantly coming out... that is why I still consistently use IMR's out standbys that have been available for long that I have been alive

Yes, with the larger bores you can feel signifigant changes in recoil by changing powders, even if you're shooting the same bullet at the same velocity the gun will provide suprisingly (and not pleasant) different fealt recoil.
