This ladder testing at the range, some guys are using the Lee press to seat at the range,

What do I need? besides the press,

I have all rcbs dies, these will work?

I can load for every gun I own now, at home, but I need the portability factor of the Lee.

Lets spend some money.

You need shelholders. RCBS dies will work fine. I like mine but the press is a knucklebuster for sure. Produces accurate reloads.

Also, the longer magnums are too long for this press unless you angle in the case with the bullet in the neck. Not impossible, just not ideal.

Way better than a hand press.....

Press mounted on a 2x6, then C-clamped to whatever's handy....

When space and money were an issue I did all my loading with a Lee hand press and never missed a beat. Loaded up to and including .338 Win Mag.

All the normal shellholders work.

RCBS work, I use mine to decap, partial size (no lube needed) then hand prime my Hornet cases in the winter when I'm loading a thou or so for gophers. Works fine but ram fills up w/spent primers, so you have to take out the shell holder and empty it every 50 or so.-Muddy

30-06 is no problem with RCBS shell holders on the Lee hand press.

It will help you develop upper body strength. smile

It's pretty hard to use a scale with even a moderate breeze blowing. Take a powder measure, pre-set to the correct charge.

I haven't seated at the range yet, but I am planning on doing so, as soon as I get some time to run a ladder test.
I am planning on bringing my press, which is mounted on the Sinclair press stand. I don't have an actual bench, which means I can reload anywhere.

The sinlcair is about 70$. so you could make your own stand with 1/2" plywood and mount your regular press, saving the purchase of the Lee loader.

$27.99 and a nylon mallet, you don't need no stinkin' press.
223 for example.

I have my press bolted to a workbench, and that's where she'll stay, and I don't need another full size press.

I'm looking for small, not really all that often used, and portable. Grab it on a Sunday morning and go.

I will be taking pre-charged cases to the range.

The lee hand press seem to fit the bill in all directions from what I can see, No?

Rick (rcamuglia) put me onto that link. I think it was originally his idea. It does work great and saves a lot of time and effort.
