Just cut a 24 inch .270 win down to 22 inches, next move is to change the stock out but not this week so a quick question, I cannot make it to a 100 yard range to sight the gun in so I need to sight it in at 25 yards, for a 130 grain going (probably) about 2900 FPS and a scope 1.7 inches above the bore if I sight it in 1 inch low at 25 will it be "about right" within 200 yards?

You should definitly try to shoot at least at 50 yards. At that make it hit a half inch high. If I were possibly going to shoot at 200 yards I would certainly go to a 1 hundred yard range and sight in 2 inches high at that range.

thank you. Its the same scope, at the same adjustment, going back into the same talley steel rings, so it should not be too far off. .3 inches low should do it.

I sight my .270's right on at 25 yds. then fine tune at 100 yds. to 3" high. Then hold on hair out to 300 and a little beyond.
