How easy they are to get to shoot?

I don't have THAT much experience with them, I own one and a buddy does... But, both of them were very easy to load for. My buddy traded me taxidermy work for load work up/100 loaded rounds... It took me exactly one group to develop his load. Near max powder, 180 TTSX shot in to less then an incha. Called it done.

Mine, is a Kimber 8400 that is a dream. The gun shoots 168 TTSX to .8-1.1" every single time, even with the 5+# trigger (at the shop right now getting that lowered). I usually use H4831sc, but just for fun played with W760 and it not only shot the same size groups, but to the same POI...

Going to start playing with 180 accubonds, and 155 Scenars here soon... I bet that goes well.

Anyways, just wanted to see if my experience with the 300wsm ws normal, or isolated.

I couldn't find a load mine didn't like. Shot factory loads just as well. Great round.

Same here in a Montana. 1/2gr. Over max book H4350 and 200gr. Partition, 1/2gr. Over max book IRM 4350 and 180gr. AB, 1/2gr. under max IMR 4350 and 165gr. AB were all at the moa mark and same poi at 100. Another fun one was a max load of IMR 4064 and the 130gr. TTSX. All held moa out to 500.

Yep. Both of mine are stupidly easy to load for and shoot well. Really great cartridge.

I also shoot 1/2 grain over max... Max is 69.5 H4831sc with the 168, I shoot 70 with 0 pressure signs. Rifle worked like a DREAM in Africa.

Took this dude down like it was absolutely nothing... It was kind of cool, I felt like a sniper. We were undre a small tree canopy that felt kind of like a ghillie suit.

Bob Nosler told me a few years ago they used shoot lighter bullets in the .308 Winchester for their accuracy testing, and heavier bullets in the .30-06 or .300 Winchester Magnum. After the .300 WSM came out, however, they just switched to it for all their .30 caliber accuracy testing.

In general, I have found 30 calibers are easy to get to shoot, the 300 WSM being among them, but equally true of the 30/06 and the belted 30's like the H&H and 300 win mag.

I love my 300 wsm, my first handload of 65gr IMR 4831 with the nosler 165 ballistic tip shot a 3/4 inch group.

I've got a New Hampshire Winchester Stainless Classic that shoots decent, if not exceptional, groups with 130gr and 150gr bullets. I can not get a decent 165 or 180gr load.

Guess I'll just have to settle for the 130gr TTSX at 3490fps.

I initially was trying to develop a load for 180gr Accubonds in my M70 Extreme Weather, but never had great results (nothing under MOA). Sam Olson recommended 180gr Partitions, and they shot as accurate as I had hoped the Accubonds would (well under MOA). So I stuck with Re17/180gr Partitions in mine.

Yep,that 300 WSM is easy to get to shoot like a 308,just a lot more powerful and flatter shooting.Mine shoots 165gr bullets really good with Reloader-22 and a little better with Winchester 760.Really,just about any powder between those two on the burn scale will usually work quite well in the 300 WSM.I haven't tried any of the faster powders,but I'd bet you could do well with a few of those too.The case capacity is about the same as a 7mag,so I kinda compare it to a 30-338.It really builds your confidence when you can pick up a rifle that shoots so well.

Have you tried the 168 gr Barnes ttsx, I run 66.5 gr of RL 17 with this bullet, average speed 3160 and shoots one inch groups.

I run 66.5-67 gr of RE17 in a couple .300 WSM with a 168 TTSX. Excellent load.

I need to find some RL-17. Anyone have any leads on any? There is none around here and I want to try some in my 300 WSM.

I have worked up a couple loads for my 300wsm, first with IMR4350 and 165gr Sierra gamekings, second load is 70 grs of ramshot hunter with 150 ABs . Both do sub MOA but I'll stick with the hunter. Average 3300 fps out of a 26 in tube. Hunter is an excellent choice for the 300 wsm
