Hi guys,

I recently purchased a new Savage 16 LWH in .308 Win. Want to start loading for it and today I went to measure the COAL using a Stoney Point/Hornady COAL gauge. My readings are showing me a COAL of 2.950". Given that many of the loads I've seen in my research show handload OALs typically around 2.80", could my rifle really have a chamber that long? It just doesn't seem quite right to me, but I certainly could be wrong. I will be loading Barnes TTSX in 168 grains and using H4895 powder.

Thanks in advance for any help/input you might offer.
