Thinking about giving the AR a shot at a few deer and I have some 60gr partitions and am wondering what powder to try. I have BLC-2 and Varget. I know Tac is great but I have not been able to find it locally. I also have some 55gr CT ballistic Silver tips but I like the idea of a bit heavier bullet. Shots will only be taken on open fields and limited to less than 75 yards. Give me a few ideas.... Yes I know TSXs are better but I dont have any.

I'm using 25.5 grains of H335 under 65 gr. Gamekings, and I easily killed a couple of WT's with my AR Friday evening at 150 and 230 yards.
I don't think 60 NPT's are going to perform in any lesser fashion, whatever powder you use.
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

In the .223 60 gr. partitions over 25 gr. of imr4895= 3G.
Kills deer dead, Pierces bones and exits opposite side.
No replacement for shot placement.

I always thought with Varget and the 223 you just filled the case up and raked off the top then seated a bullet.

Other than the Barnes, I'd check out 65 Gamemaster, 60 NPT, and 64 Win PowerPoint and go with the one that shot best.
