Guys,

Here is a AA Fancy grade Oregon Black Walnut Stock blank for sale. This blank was logged in the in the late 1990s. It has been very carefully air dried since that time.

The set is a medium burgundy brown overall. It is 3/4 (rift) sawn . The blank has nice curl down it's length and color striping throughout..A rainbow of Browns ,reds, smoky greys.

Medium density and hardness.. No knots to be found. This is a perfect blank in terms of structure and layout.

The size is a bit small for a one piece stock.It is only 27 long, by 6 deep. It is however a generous 2.8" thick.

I think it's a little small for all but the very smallest 1 piece stocks. On balance it would be better used for a two piece stock set.

NOTE, the first two of pics was taken in bright sunlight. The color is washed out a bit. The third pic was taken in shade and shows the true color a bit better.
