Took the cam off the creek bottom when I turned the weaner calves out, and stuck it out on a knob in the middle of a prairie pasture. Have pics on it of cattle, horses, my dog, coyotes, whitetails, muleys, fox, and hawks. Have tons of annylopes and not one pic of them on the cam. But, the big surprise was a close-up of a bull elk. I'm an hour east of Denver, 'tween Deer Trail and Agate. I've cut elk tracks on the crick bottom, but they're transients sticking to cover......

Wouldn't be Purdy's riverbottom would it?

There is a group of elk over on the Kendall Ranch and when I was out there in the mid 90's I saw a big 7x7 and thought "nobody will believe this"! Anyway, joke was on me, they had been seeing them for years

That elk is an in-your-face damned ham! Elk are runners - ergo- evolved as plains animals, tho we now think of them as mountain critters.

If the habitat and protections are there.... they will be.

True for most any critter.
