It's an over the counter tag in Oregon. If you time in right on the west side of the cascades you can hit the clear cuts with berry patches. It's fun but hot.
Come to Alaska for two weeks and go to the interior part of state and rent a truck with a cab-over camper. Chase salmon and grayling in the creeks and rivers. Lots of bears up that way.
