I'm mostly a whitetail hunter and don't care what anyone else hunts but I just can't see why someone would shoot an elephant.

Do you think they are self aware?

Well, watch the video.

Look at the damage they do to the fields and those African villagers tear into the carcass.

Once the Game dept says they need to be culled, somebody has to do it.

And by the way. I don't know how much hunting you have done in your life, but I doubt any animal you've ever shot was truly any LESS "self aware" than an Elephant.

So save the "BABAR" stuff for Oprah... wink

Do you think they have organized religion, and unemployment benefits?

No but when you piss one off they can turn you into a bloody mess of toe jam pretty quickly from what I have been told by a friend who does hunt them.

I gave up elephant hunting early.....decoys were too heavy whistle

To each their own. I have no desire to shoot an elephant or big cat, but I'd love to go for plains game.

Nothing more that a crop damage control. Look I use to do that on a Tree Farm with white Tails. He shot a meat bull, and the locals ate it. This sort of thing is SOP. Looks like a tuskless bull, get him out of the gene pool. Its fine by me. Well the guys cutting up the elephant in Go Daddy ball caps well just to dam good.

I have no use for a coastal brown bear. The meat tastes like road killed salmon and I have no place for a hide that big.

Looked fine to me. I've never seen video of night time elephant hunting. Can't say I'd try it at night....

Well sometimes they are loyal like elephants. They would never cheat on ya unless they had been eating fermented berries.

And it's not their fault if they're assaulted by a drunken cheechako out to do the Alaskan Grand Slam...

If they are culling the herd or controlling crop damage, not much wrong with it. Guess I bought into the anti's rhetoric.
