I have a Weatherby Vangard in 308. I would like to put a longer heavier barrel on it and do some action work to it, and add a nice stock is there a person or gunsmith that can work on these? west coast area.

What is your budget for the modifications? All the good smiths get pretty backed up and if the vanguard is your only rifle you might not have it back for a year. You could buy a Howa 1500 barreled action (they make the Vanguard actions for Weatherby and just have minor differences) http://www.legacysports.com/products/howa/howa_baractions.htmland order a McMillan stock that is exactly what you want for less than taking apart the rifle you have now., especially if it shoots good already.

I just had a .338 vanguard rebarelled to .264 wm. Turn around was quick and price was very good. The work was excellent. IT&D custom gun in minerva OH.
Politicians and Diapers both need to be changed often, and for the same reason!
