I have a Winchester model 55 that i'm thinking about selling, it has a four digit serial number. Nice gun with Marbles front site, good wood with no cracks, good blue and receiver is good with smoe flaking of the receiver blue. Can anyone give me an idea of value.

Thanks,

Scott

.

These guns were made from 1924 to around 1932. They had an independant set of serial numbers until about serial number 3000 and then the numbers were intigrated into the Mod. 94 sequence of numbers. Total production was about 20 to 21 thousand.

No way to estimate the value without seeing the gun. What you describe would be about an 80% condition. If so, the value would be in the 1200 to 1500 dollar range. Value of that gun is what someone is willing to pay.
