It took a long time, but I've finally got a 22lr to go with my heavy barreled L-frame 'Smiths. Smith and Wesson 617 no dash, 4" in 22lr. No lock, of course Heading to the range tomorrow; should be fun. Let's see some more K22's (old and new, of course)!

I don't know why I waited so long to get one, but I finally did. This is one of the new production 17s. Please excuse the target, she shoots far better than that when I'm up to it.

This will be my last visit to this thread. I gave my son a 617 no-dash with one-piece Weigand mounts and a 2x Leupold. The revolver had been worked over by S&W Performance Center where they also installed a target hammer and smooth combat trigger. I love the great young man, but I'm still in the grieving process.
Forgive me my nonsense, as I also forgive the nonsense of those that think they talk sense. Robert Frost

Nice K22! That slim barrel contour really holds well off-hand. Here's mine in that configuration, 1948 vintage:

Very cool McKay. I like that green fiber optic dot on the M17. I'm getting used to the fiber optic dot on my 4" Ruger SP101 22lr; might have to get one fitted up to the 617 as well. Not much beats a partridge blade for target work, but for fast, fun and accurate-to-the-day shooting that big green glowing dot works just fine.

I kinda kinda kick myself for letting my Model 18 go, but I really, really wanted a 38/44 Heavy Duty at the time (it's pictured here with a Model 58 no dash; I haven't been foolish enough to let that one go!)
