That would make an awfully handy outdoorsman's gun smile

I wonder if you could safely build a 5 shot .480 Ruger, in the N frame?

If they leave that damn IL off, I bet they'll sell a bunch of them!

...would be even nicer in .41 Magnum with no IL...betting however Smith isn't that smart.. This what the .41 should have coupled with in the first place.....

With the 950 fps LE load it would have been perfect. Jut the gun/round Keith/Jordan/Skelton asked for...

Only 2 oz less than a 629 Mountain. I'll take the Mountain!

Ya know, about 2-3 years ago I contacted the engineering department at S&W and suggested this very thing. Told them a "Pack" gun made on a medium frame with a 5 shot cylinder would be just about perfect........while I don't believe that my suggestion would have influenced them, in and of itself, I'm guesing that they received many suggestions for this revolver from other enthusiast' and perhaps one of the engineers themselves had been thinking along the same lines.

Regardless of the circumstance, glad to see it brought out!

That's how I am. L frame? Kind of cool but...I wouldn't mind having a 329 but heavy 45 Colts are all I want to tolerate in handgun recoil. 454 is more than I want as is the 44 Mag. in such a light gun. I dunno...nice gun.

I'll refer to it as the "Frogman" from this day forward.

I like it too. I wonder though, why they had to make it with a 4.25" barrel. I don't need a quarter inch of muzzle sticking out of all the holsters I have for an L frame Smith.

Glad to see they didn't hang a fiber optic front sight on it.

ya thats a strange barrel length for a revolver. i wonder what the actual length of the barrel is outside the frame. they may have beefed up the forcing cone area.

i like it. big fan of the smiths. the L's are a nice size.

I used to buy a lot of S&W revolvers. Then they added that lock. I never bought another, and won't until the lock is gone.

I keep shooting mine in an effort to notice the lock. Hasn't worked.

I don't like internal locks either - But I won't let them get to me.
If I like the gun and the price - I'll buy it, regardless.
