After trying for some time yesterday,trying to get the slides out of my S&W SDVE's I finally gave up and called Smith & Wesson. They were not helpful, but gave me the name of a Company named Galloway Precision. They had the answer. An extended Takedown plate which pushed the release buttons out a bit. Currently you have to have the fingers of a Gorilla to push them in to release the slide. It takes a Gunsmith to put the Extended release plate in, but anything is better than puttzing around for an hour just to get the slide out. I ordered a couple. I'll let anyone know how they work out. should have them working in a week or two.
