I am interested in hearing about the accuracy from these rifles, reliability etc, Good and bad tell me what ya know from experience.
I have recently become interested in the Remington centerfire pump rifles and I am thinking about getting one in rimfire for an understudy rifle of sorts so I can get used to the pump action using relatively inexpensive 22 ammo(as compared to centerfire)
Would also be using for squirrel hunting so it would need to be accurate.AMMO probably CCI MINI Mag hollowpoint.
I will Definitly be scoping the rifle as I am 51 and HAVE to use a scope nowadays.

I love my 572. It's very accurate and I've never had a single problem.

Mine was very accurate and never had any feeding problems until one of the internal parts broke (a strut?) - which happened after many thousands of rounds. The part was cheap and easy to obtain, and I easily replaced it myself (and I am not a gunsmith).

I eventually traded it back to the friend who had sold it to me (He bought the thing in his youth). He paid dearly in that trade, and I still sometimes regret letting him get away with it.

I had a model 12 and now have a model 121. It's a great rifle and shoots lights out. I've never shot one of the 572 pumps, but have no reason to think they aren't as good.

Get a 572, have a light weight and a 70's standard, no issues and accurate. Not target grade but certainly minute of squirrel. If you feel the need to scope, they have a grooved receiver. Keep it clean and no issues with any ammo, from cb caps to full power LR.

Wife uses a scoped Remington 572 as her whistle pig gun. She has several 22's and this is 95% of the time her go to 22. Many a whistle pig has succumb to that pair.
